Flood Doors in Timber
Timber flood doors by StormMeister® are specially engineered external doors designed to prevent floodwater from entering a property. Hand crafted from Accoya they function as flood doors, but with the ease of operation of regular doors in daily use. All StormMeister flood doors are compliant with BS EN 12217 for handle operation and Part M Building Regulations for accessibility.
StormMeister® Accoya flood doors replicate the appearance of traditional timber doors, making our timber flood doors suitable for heritage properties where there are planning and conservation requirements.
StormMeister® Timber Flood Doors are engineered using Accoya, one of the most advanced modified timber available. With structural integrity far superior to traditional hardwoods, flood resistant tested to PAS 1188, and severe impact resistant to BS EN 12608, Accoya is ideally suited to the manufacture of flood doors.
Accoya is made from sustainable timber resources, treated by a patented acetylation process to achieve structural integrity far superior to traditional hardwoods. Accoya is guaranteed for 50 Years not to warp or twist, offering exceptional resistance to weathering and decay. Enhanced Durability: The patented acetylation process makes Accoya guaranteed not to warp or twist, highly water-resistant, rot-resistant, and prevents moisture absorption. Flood doors not only flood resistant but severe impact resistant to BS EN 12608. Accoya timber is better than carbon neutral (carbon negative), from sustainable sources, and outperforms traditional hardwoods.
User-Friendly Operation: Designed for easy, single person use by the elderly or disabled, BS EN 12217 also confers suitability as escape doors. StormMeister® Accoya Timber Flood Doors are also the only timber flood doors compliant with Building Regulations for thermal efficiency and the Building Safety Act 2022.
Flood Protection: PAS 1188 flood tested to 400mm whilst at the same time compliant with BS EN 12217 for accessibility and flood sealed all the way around the door for ongoing flood and storm protection.
Custom Configurations: Available in custom sizes and designs to suit your requirements. Can be manufactured to replicate existing doors in conservation areas.
Compliance: StormMeister® Accoya Timber Flood Doors comply with BS EN 12217 for door handle operating forces, enabling usability and accessibility.
Ease of Access: Available as inward or outward opening, and can be provided with Part ‘M’ compliant low threshold for wheelchair access.
Bespoke Finishes: Can be finished to a range of wood stains, coloured to your choice, or colour finished to match your existing colours. Our Accoya doors use a five-coat system, the topcoats are UV resistant paint specifically formulated for our Accoya timber products.
